You can put a mini skip on a public road, but you will require a skip permit from your local council. These can be applied for by the skip hire company. A skip hire council permit can take up to 5 working days and will an extra charge.

Price is dependent on where you are located. In general if you are located in the south of the UK the mini skip will be more expensive compared to the north. For example a mini skip in Essex will be more expensive than a mini skip in Scunthorpe. Being a small skip you will find the mini skip as very cost effective.
