A maxi skip can differ depending on the skip hire company but will normally be the largest skip they offer. In most cases a maxi skip will either be a 12-yard, 14-yard or 16-yard skip. Being the largest skip it can hold a large amount of refuse and used for commercial tasks.

How Big is a Maxi Skip?

A maxi skip is the one of the largest skip hires available. Depending on what skip size the skip company holds the dimensions can differ. The dimensions of the maxi skip are:

12-Yard Skip

  • Length: 3.96 metres

  • Width: 2.13 metres

  • Height: 1.83 metres

14-Yard Skip

  • Length: 4.11 metres

  • Width: 1.83 metres

  • Height: 1.83 metres

16-Yard Skip

  • Length: 4.3 metres

  • Width: 2.13 metres

  • Height: 2.13 metres

How Much Waste can you Fit in a Maxi Skip?

A maxi skip holds either 12, 14 or 16  cubic yards of rubbish. The maxi skip can hold:

12-Yard 120 black bin bags full of waste. 

14-Yard 140 black bin bags full of waste.  

16- Yard 160 black bin bags full of waste.  

The Maxi skip can hold a large quantity of waste and can be very cost-effective when there is a lot of material to dispose of. 

Can a Maxi Skip be put on a Road?

No a maxi skip cannot be put on a road. The largest skip that can be placed on a public road is a 8-yard skip.

Maxi skip prices start at any where from £330  up to over £700. Price is dependent on where you are located. In general if you are located in the south of the UK the maxi skip will be more expensive compared to the north. For example a maxi skip in Essex will be more expensive than a maxi skip in Scunthorpe. Being a larger skip you will find the maxi skip the most expensive skip option put there.
