What You Can Put in a Rubbish Collection Van

Our team is ready to remove most non-hazardous waste from homes, gardens, offices, and construction sites. Commonly accepted items include:

🛋 Household Waste

  • Furniture ( wardrobes, tables, etc.)

  • Bags of general rubbish

  • Waste plastic, glass, metal

  • Clothing, textiles

  • Cardboard, packaging, and recyclables

  • Some Electricals: Washing machines, tumble dryers, or microwaves.

🧰 DIY & Builder’s Waste

  • Wood and timber

  • Tiles and bathroom suites

  • Kitchen units

  • Bricks, rubble, and concrete (limited weight per collection)

🌿 Garden Waste

  • Green waste (grass cuttings, leaves, branches)

  • Soil (within volume/weight limits)

  • Garden furniture and planters

  • Sheds and fencing (dismantled)

🗃 Office & Business Waste

  • Desks, filing cabinets, Non-upholstered chairs

  • IT equipment (monitors, printers)

  • Archive boxes and general clutter

💷 Chargeable Items (Extras)

Some items require special handling or recycling and may incur an additional charge. These include:

🔌 Electrical & Electronic Waste (WEEE)

We can collect a wide range of electronic items that require licensed disposal, such as:

  • TVs & monitors

  • Fridges & freezers

  • Microwaves

  • Computers & laptops

🛋 Upholstered Furniture

We accept all upholstered items, which must be recycled separately under current regulations:

  • Sofas

  • Armchairs

  • Office chairs with padding

  • Mattresses

🧩 Miscellaneous Items

Certain other items may also carry a surcharge due to disposal restrictions:

  • Car tyres


🚫 What You Can’t Put in a Rubbish Collection Van

For legal and safety reasons, there are certain restricted items we cannot collect through our Man & Van service:

Hazardous or Toxic Waste

  • Paint, solvents, fuel, oils, or chemicals

  • Asbestos

  • Medical or biological waste

  • Gas canisters or pressurised cylinders

Heavy Loads Exceeding Safe Limits

  • Soil, bricks, rubble, or hardcore in large volumes

  • Commercial quantities of builder’s waste (more suitable for skip hire)
