What is a Wait and Load Skip?

Blue Skip Lorry

There are lots of waste management options out there, one of which is wait and load skips, part of a skip service offered by many waste management companies. Read on to see how this skip hire service could be a suitable option for you as an alternative to traditional skip hire.  Any other information on skip hiring click here.

What is a Wait and Load Skip?

A wait and load service is when a skip is delivered , filled with waste and collected in a very short time frame. The lorry will deliver the skip to the designated location, when they arrive the skip will be lowered. You will then have the opportunity to load your waste, meanwhile the lorry driver will wait on location. The lorry driver will then collect the filled skip and drive off. All this will be done in under 30 minutes.

How does Wait and Load Skip Hire Work?

Firstly, contact the waste management service and request a "wait and load service". You will need to specify what day you would like the service for, the size of skip and what type of waste your will be disposing of. The supplier will normally give you a time slot for when it  will take place, in most cases it will be around midafternoon.

On the day of the service, the lorry driver will give you a call when they are on route. Once the lorry driver is at your desired location they will drop the skip, giving you time to fill it with your waste. The lorry driver will more then likely stay at the location while you are loading your waste. Once you have all loaded all your waste it will be collected.

Why Would you use a Wait and Load Skip?

The service is designed for short term use, for those who do not want or need a skip on location for a prolonged period. It could be that you do not have the space for a skip on site or you don't want one taking up space on site.

You may need the waste collected quickly off site and cannot wait for a skip road permit to come through, or you may not want to pay the extra cost of a permit.

What are the Benefits?

There are several benefits to using a wait and load skip service. These include:

  • Fast Waste Removal– Skip is delivered and the rubbish collected in under 40 minutes.

  • Cost Effective Alternative – Wait and Load service means you do not need to purchase a on road skip permit so you can save money.

  • Convenient Rubbish Collection –  No waiting around or trying to organise collections, it all happens on the same day.

  • Save Space –You will not have a skip taking up space on site.

  • More Waste Disposal - You can choose different skip sizes, so you can dispose of large quantities of waste quickly.

If any of these benefits apply to you, a wait and load skip could be the perfect solution when it comes to your waste disposal.
